Not sure...Why is it necessary to plead with god not to allow bad things to happen?

Would my ancestors not have been enslaved if only they prayed harder?
Y'all got this notion that Africa was righteous before the attacks on it that has lead people to take over it and enslaved blacks.
If was Africa was so righteous there would of been no need, to teach ma'at (truth, justice, order)
Big as Africa is how can people take it over unless it was divided.
Everything is happening for a reason, that's why some African countries suffer more than others, think on that and you'll see Gods plan
Good point's was curious based off the Hurricane Irma thread. Not sure...
I ask bad things to not gappen and good things too or I ask for the strength/means to make it through a bad time...
I usually use prayer as a conversation of sorts.. Not really asking for too much and mainly showing appreciation for things while also talking about whats on my mind at the time.
Not sure if thats how you are supposed to pray but its how I did/do and what made sense to me. Others might be different.
When did I say that? Why is it you think that prayer is only for things you don't want to happen??
When did I say that?
I don't agree with that prayer has a spiritual element.Within the framework of the god concept, it's not only unnecessary but detrimental to 'pray' for what you DON'T want. Prayer just focused thought, technically you're ALWAYS praying to some degree just by thinking. But when you sit down to actually focus that thought into a 'prayer', do so with desired outcomes in mind.
For example a lot of people pray for strength and then wonder why they endure hardship. You go to the gym and tell the trainer to make you strong he's going to hand you weights.

Oh great, so US slavery was a punishment by God and necessary to convert the heathens of Africa?
fukk your God. Get the fukk out of here. You sound like a damned slave master attempting to justify a crime against humanity.
