Question: do you miss blockbuster?

Couple thangs, couple thangs...

1.) I scored over 100 I don't remember what the CPU had but it couldn't have been much for me to score that much

As for you not caring about the other games, that would explain why you didn't win your store

Because it was a combination of scores from all 3 games. And those were at the time my 3 favorite games so I cleaned up.
And all I I know is when I got to regionals, the staff at the event was hyping me up and was informed me I had the highest score on the east coast

Now you saying you had the highest score in NBA JAM, that couldn't even be verified after you finish because the event didn't end after YOUR GAME.
And in 1993 information wasn't zip zow zooming like that my G, double/triple OG

On the board they had other people the third week listed. Which also rubbed me the wrong way. As they did not have any accolades prepared for what i did.
Plus they tried to make what i did into some participation award.
For other people with a weaker score. Or allowed the defense to many points.

Where i was insulted.
Like no trophy and you honoring other people after two weeks.

When the manager at this store had to ask corporate about what i did and went the extra mile for. To see me given props.


Like once i saw that and the huff that is clay fighter. I was older too.
Sohh i kinda had one of those i am too grown to be trying to be good in clay fighter. Clay fighter was a deal breaker for me.
I just did not give one iota of a fukk about that bullshyt huff ass game. I hated it and i still hate trash of any kind. So i just did not really compete in clay fighter.
Like virtually just held the controller cause i do not do wack shyt.

Clay fighter was that wack. I just did not compete on the last week like that. I was kinda insulted.
Like highly insulted.

Like totally disrespected.

As for games, a game I actually bought from there (used) was ESPN Baseball 2004 for PS2 and the game NEVER worked Disc was messed up but it wasn't obvious looking at it.

Clay Fighter was cool, it was that graphical style that was unique and what we'd consider PIXAR level at the time so it got props for that

I miss video stores period

There's something about picking up random cases and reading the descriptions that don't hit the same on an infinite Netflix scroll. Really taking your time and making a decision because you don't wanna bring home some bullshyt

Blockbuster was falling off right as I became an adult so I didn't get the full experience but I definitely remember walking the aisles as a kid

I remember being a teenager walking around Suncoast looking at the random action movies and animes

Any time I'm in Walmart or Target I take a few minutes and look through the video section for any potential gems but it ain't the same

As a nikka that worked at blockbuster, yall were in fact, always late turning shyt in my dude.

Used to be due at midnight, then they gave you an extra 12hrs so it’s due noon the next day. Even then, the system won’t log you as late until 2pm because it’s giving employees time to check in movies that were dropped off at the last second. But it won’t even charge you yet. It prints out a sheet called FOS (found on shelf) of everything that’s supposed to have been returned by midnight, last night but hasn’t been scanned yet. This is for employee error if we just missed checking something in and didn’t catch it. Mind you, this list only prints 14hrs after it was due. It’s 2pm the next day. You take that list and check the floor to see if it was returned, not scanned and put back on the shelf. Once you do that and don’t see it, the list is final and the system charges late fees.

Only way you get charged and your shyt was actually not late is you’d have to turn something in on time, use the Dropbox instead of giving it to an employee, whoever is checking in the Dropbox gets your shyt, doesn’t scan it and just puts it back on the shelf but puts it in the wrong place so when the FOS list is printed, that person, usually the manager, will look for your shyt where it’s supposed to be, not see it and you fall through the cracks. That’s too many variables and failsafes to go wrong. Has it happened, sure. Can that happen often, not unless multiple people are doing it deliberately.

So naw, yall shyt just be late breh. And me, I’d still let yall skip the late fees to rent.
