If you look at it negatively, sure...:yeshrug:

It can also foster independence, self-reliance... it can enhance social skills because the kid has to go out there and "make" friends rather than just have built in peers at home, it can be harnessed into a good "stubbornness" where the child is not influenced by others as easily.

Most people have a pervasive sense of loneliness. It's what happens when you're surrounded by people, or take part in social settings that don't represent who you truly are.

You're probably just an introvert. You don't have to be an only child to be an introvert.

That I am.

I joined a car club (Crown Vic Boys)
After I got out the Army I look at it like it's a challenge that can be fun...we ain't getting no younger I ain't tryna have no regrets when I die my breh...

I used to be in a car club, and a motorcycle club, and a players club....but then I got married and everything fun went away.
Now I'm in church, at work and that's about it.
That's probably the source of the loneliness...no social life.
Ugh...

I guess you're right.
Wish I would have been pushed in that direction...Instead I was just left alone to figure it out for myself...and apparently I didn't.

At least you didn't lose one or more siblings.

A friend of mine who was the middle of 2 brothers and 2 sisters lost all 4 of them at 1 go...he only knew and spent 9 years with them..horrible madness.
:ohhh::wow::snoop:
My condolences breh...that's rough.
I guess you're right...things could always be worse.

Nah. I'm an only child. I will say that I knew I didn't want to be lonely when I got older. I have older familiy members that are single and want to be married and have kids and it's sad. My aunt's about to hit 50 and only stopped talking about having kids a few years ago.

I've never had issues with getting a date or even having kids (have two), it was just that rotten feeling of loneliness...even when unwarranted.

It sounds like your aunt finally gave up on having kids. Maybe she should consider adopting?...or just enjoy her life and retirement.

Nah, not at all breh.
That's the great thing about being in the Army, you meet some of every kind of person and live with them for a bit.
Basic will have you learning new things from races you always knew of...but didn't know about.
