The Other A
If you hit the lottery for around 100 million or over...

Would you give 10% to your church?

Even though it states nowhere in the bible you have to give a certain percentage... It is sorta the unwritten code of the church.. :manny:

The hebrew word for which we translate as "tithe" is literally defined as a tenth part or 10% and there are many Bible verses that speak on tithes, offerings, and giving

I don't really go to church but I always believe in the ability to give tithes. Giving in general is a blessing in itself because it shows true character and continues good karma throughout the world. I know for a fact once the smoke clears, I'm putting some good chips into the donations for The Coli because y'all really held down the marsupial during the humble beginning of being a newbie to this transformation within my life.

Tithes was setup biblically as a way to provide for the tribe of Levi as they had no inheritance in Israel. Yah was their inheritance. Tithes was usually foodstuffs and if you couldn’t provide that then money was allowed..there’s no where in the Bible that states you’re supposed to tithe 10 percent of your earnings to any ecclesiastical body or congregation.

Yes.

And it wouldn’t matter the amount really, I’m giving God His due!

Understand it, or don’t, that’s how I’m rocking…:manny: bc it isn’t for me to make you “understand” it

What’s more important?

Giving God his “due” or following His commandments?

I'd spread 10% around to various people/organizations if not more, but giving 10% to one church? Probably not. A lot of pastors love to push that tithes deception because it makes them not have to exercise the faith that they are telling everyone else to exercise. I'm all for people giving what's in their heart to give, and if that's 10%, give that... but what I'm against is these churches trying to tell you salvation is a free gift on one hand and then charging you a 10%+ income attendance fee on the other hand

Only if I donated under my corporation.I would donate the maximum I could claim which happens to be 10%. But of course there is a twist...

I will find a crooked preacher. So I donate to the 10k to him. But he gives it back in cash secretly. Then he cashes the check for whatever reason he made up and brings it to the church. But it gets “stolen” So he file the police report and makes an insurance claim and get most of it back. So now you have the church getting close to 10k, and me getting 10k off my business taxes, and I still got the 10k cash. Everybody win. God is good, all the time.
