it's already known that atheists have a problem with the whole Christ thing and it gets them furiously agitated in an instance

my question is why don't atheists acknowledge and respect Jesus of Nazareth for his work as a humanitarian? every time his name is brought up it's nothing but disparaging remarks while people like MLK, Gandhi, Mandela, Mother Theresa etc. get universal praise

most humanitarians including the aforementioned were influenced by Jesus in some way whether they believed he was the messiah or not, so why are atheists so quick to trash his name at every chance they get?

speak on it :lupe:

Ask a person who doesnt believe in Jesus why they don't accept him...completely ignoring the definition of Atheism....

Well, I'm Agnostic and I believe Jesus was a normal guy who helped people. I used to be a former Christian. TBH, I believe in an afterlife, but don't really know what.

OK it's kinda crazy to me you would wear the weapon your savior got murdered with regardless of the symbol of sacrifice it's supposed to represent. It's like wearing a chain of a gun if somebody you loved got shot and killed. Everyone entitled to their beliefs I guess.:ehh:

i see where you coming from but this is a worldly viewpoint and if you walk with faith you don't look at it like that

if someone i know gets killed I ain't gonna wear a symbol of the weapon cause i don't celebrate their death, i can wear a cross though as a celebration of life after death

The only issue I have is the worldy viewpoint is constantly changing.. In my opinion we use common sense in every aspect apart from religion where we use faith or belief.

Imagine I told you I love someone I never met never spoken to, never seen but I have faith that they exist? even if we take away the savior aspect - if somebody said that about another human being they would be labelled crazy. But yet when it comes to religion it seems to be accepted?

Well lets be real...there is very little "evidence" that people like Homer and King Alexander existed...

Much of ancient history is based off of reasonable belief....based off very few writings....

but the thing is that no one attributes anything to homer that couldnt and hasnt been accomplished today, such as making loaves and fishes appear or being the illegitimate son of the creator of the universe :skip:
