It's never too late, but you'll still most likely have to start with a tech support/helpdesk/PC Tech type of job and work your way up.

IT is just a career where experience matters a lot, most IT departments won't want to let someone off the street with no experience into the server room.

My advice is get your foot in the door with an entry level job, but as soon as you get it, start studying for more certs so you can move up to a better position as soon as possible. Now if you're looking to do programming rather than IT, that may be different, I'll leave that to programming brehs.

Never too late to get into anything, for the most part. In all of my pre-nursing classes were individuals 30-40+, possibly older, who were making a career change and decided this was it. And you better believe people were going to them for assistance because they had their shyt together. If anything, your are in your peak form to excel because you can approach your transition analytically, and don't have all the other common distractions that will hamper your pursuit.

Nope, it's never too late. You have a wide array of options at your disposal for what sub-field(s) in IT you want to get into. There's something for everyone who wants to put the effort forth to learn and gain hands-on experience.
