This is the wrong time right before a Recession to try and jump into tech. Especially if you're middle aged. Companies mostly want young workers or foreigners during a Recession.

I was 28 when I got hired at a Tier 2 position and was the youngest person on my team by a wide margin. Like they hired 13 ppl or so after me and I think 1 of them was around my age while the others were all mid 30’s plus and many in their 40’s.

Doesn’t even have to do all that. Cook up a resume with 3-5 years experience on it.

Study and memorize this video (can be done in a few hours). I’ve never had a single Tier1-Tier2 interview that strayed outside of this line of questioning. Real talk the hardest interview I’ve probably done was a fukking Tier 0 call center job for a college paying $18/hr where they asked me to pick something I mentioned on my resume that I think I know well so I thought I’d be smart and pick Microsoft Word. Lol the fukking panel grilled me on Microsoft Word too smh. The easiest interview was for a $70k 3 letter government agency where they basically didn’t ask me shyt, she just talked t

The industry is ageist as hell, but I'll let these coli nikkas gas y'all up :sas2:
ya'll gotta realize there's multiple levels to industry. Most of ya'll have this Faang perspective on shyt where ya'll think they dictate the entire IT industry and are the only ones hiring when they literally make-up a small iota of jobs. Government hires a lot and could give 2 fukks how old you are. Tbh I don't think I've ever even been asked my age before I was actually hired. Also I have a former coworker that's 32 years old that just got hired by Amazon for a Tier 3 position, no degree, he has one certification and only like 3 years experience. Ya'll read a few medium blogs and think that's the overarching experience for all when it's the furthest thing from the truth.

Many decent paying jobs (~$60k+) literally require that for a recruiter to even call you. I'm just giving op the game and telling him what to do to get that start. This the formula I used to get my start years ago and how I help other friends and family.
