Let me say depictions of black male masculinity, every other show is a black LGBT or feminized version of black masculinity or safe negro

Question....what would you like to see? You have stuff like Insecure, ATL, Blackish, Lovecraft Country, Queen Sugar that are/were popular, even the new show Our Kind of People. I feel like different kinds of shows are out there. I haven’t see any of the shows you highlighted though.

It’s not the only depictions if you don’t watch insecure or blackish that’s on you
And drug shows are popular for the same reason Sopranos and breaking bad were such big hits, it’s entertaining and a glimpse into a taboo fast life

Because when we try to tell abstract/off the wall/ sillie stories or whatever, one of two things happen. Either A) there has to be a message in the show/ movie or B) other groups sprinkle themselves in in a way that removes how we see ourselves, thus removing our experience from the story. So that tends to be what we're left with.
