Not enough hard evidence for me to believe Jesus actually existed and white men didn’t make up Jesus in their image to weaponize it and subjugate other races. We can’t play the telephone game with 10 people in the room, you’re expecting me to believe all these stories are true after 400 years had passed from Jesus’ death to the first writings of the Bible? :pachaha:

Also, I believe that all religious claims put forth have equal value. It doesn't make sense that I would play favorites and choose one particular strand of belief (e.g. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life") over another (""There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah."") over another ("Let the states of equilibrium and harmony exist in perfection, and a happy order will prevail throughout heaven and earth, and all things will be nourished and flourish.")

@O Fenômeno

What do you believe is the benefit to an atheist taking a "chance" and believing? What do you think they'd get out of it that's missing from their life? What's the benefit in believing in the afterlife and not putting all of one's energy into the life they have now? What's the benefit in believing in the existence of a God that controls everything?

The Wrong Side of the Tracks
Youre invoking pascals wager which assumes that of the literal hundreds of religions/dieties worshipped by humanity, you should choose to believe in yahweh as its a low cost, high reward system.

But once again it assumes Yahweh is the one and only god.

Actually, the logic is pretty solid that there can be only one 'Supreme Being' since, if there were another, neither would be 'Supreme'.

However, that isn't the real problem.

Defining what 'G-d' is, is the problem.

I’m good

I'm an atheist, but I find it entirely plausible that a man named Jesus was roaming around Judaea in the first quarter of the first century AD. There's more near-contemporary evidence for his existence than about 99% of anyone else who lived in the region at the time. Apart from the supernatural aspects i.e. the Nativity, the Resurrection, the basics of his life in the NT--an apocalyptic prophet putting forth an eschatological message of imminent change--are believable, given the milieu.
