He was drafted in 1996 and he didnt make the first team all nba selection until 2001-2002 season, in comparison to tim duncan who was first team all nba within a year and lebron within three years, luka was first team all nba within two years of drafting. so why did it take kobe that long to become truly elite and be first team all nba caliber players?

Because someone was better? :why:
Other top players did not take as long to be first team all nba caliber players the vast majority got it in 2 3 years at max 4 years for magic johnson. You can go the list, MJ, magic, lebron, tim duncan, etc so why wasnt kobe that good? You cant claim to be a top 10 player and take 5 years before being an elite

Are you asking why he wasn't better than AI and Jordan when he was a teenager or what is the question?

Who knows why he wasn't better than AI or Jordan in the 90s. I also didn't know that you weren't elite if you weren't better than Jordan and AI, you learn something new everyday :ehh:

He played over 70 games his first two seasons and averaged over 15mpg per game from the 2nd season it was above 26minutes per game, with that amount of time it shouldnt take less to get to all nba first team, duncan was first team the very next year after the nba draft

All of them with the exception of LeBron were at least 3 years older than him :gucci:

Literally 17% further into their lives :gucci:

Him and Duncan were the same age at the time of their first All-NBA selections :gucci:
