I think about this all the time, mainly because music and sports have been the biggest loves of my life for as long as I can remember and I think musicians are some of the most powerful and influential people on the planet. Pro athletes are too but they don't have the same influence over people as musicians imo. Music period is one of the most powerful forces in the universe.
Nobody really cares about athletes outside of their respective seasons. We don't think about LeBron when the season is over, just like we're not thinking about Cam Newton right now. Matter fact, a lot of these athletes are flat out BORING outside of when their on the field.
But music is different. It has the ability to affect a persons mood, feelings, thoughts and ultimately ACTIONS. This is why I say that musicians who are lucky enough to have their music heard by the masses, are some of the most powerful and influential individuals on the planet.
I ultimately think musicians are "cooler" too. Put a group of athletes, a group of musicians and ladies all in the same room and I think the musicians are walking away with most of the ladies. Being able to sing is a panty dropper in itself. I wish I could sing
I would MUCH rather have the mind and singing voice of Stevie Wonder or Donnie Hathaway than the athletic abilities and physical gifts of LeBron James
So what gift you rolling wit?
