I didn't even read this shytty thread but the fact every album gets compared to Illmatic shows how great of an album it is

And only corny nikkas downgrade a great lp to big up another. Like there can't be more than one top notch album

There can be,i just dont think illmatic is one of them. The production is blah. Nas sounds boring and sounds like he's spitting one long freestyle over average beats. nikkas putting extras on illmatic. nikkas take mediocre songs off illmatic and act like they're doper than what they are. Life's a bytch,It aint hard to tell,world is yours and i guess i'll give him memory lane (though i dont love it) are upper echelon songs,rest of that shyt is meh.

Ok you don't like the album and have a pretty radical opinion especially of those tracks stop acting like you speak for mad nikkas because the stories on this board from people your age and older are abundant with nothing but good things to say about that album.

None of those albums is shytting on Illmatic, those artists themselves would disagree. I could imagine telling a Nas stan like Fat Joe that his shyt was better than Illmatic he'd literally look at you like

You telling Havoc that Illmatic ain't shyt when that nikka has talked first hand about Illmatic's influence on Mobb Deep and QB in general. IWW better than Illmatic? Ain't No Nikka takes RD out of the discussion alone IMO, and Jay another stan of Illmatic who had the shyt admittedly on bootleg and used to sell demos out his car bumping Illmatic.

Oh,i believe it meant something over there. It just was a regional moment that was hyped up as a country wide event cause of east coast bias media.. I dont care what "fat joe would probably look at me like ..." I've heard both and i'm speaking the real. The infamous is better than illmatic.

Go read his first post. The one where he told you Illmatic was getting radio play in CA and that people in CA were bumping the tape.
You need to come to terms with the fact that your opinion about Illmatic doesn't change the way the rest of the world perceived it in 94 and now.

Illmatic is a solida album and a classic but I personally like The Infamous better, that is not a stretch IMO. Quiks album is not better to me personally and I saw Death Certificate mentioned in here as well which I think is Cubes best album and also one of my faves... I would take a few albums over Illmatic personally but not Quiks.
