Especially in your early 20s :snoop:

I go on IG and EVERYBODY story is drink drink drink, soju, shots, margaritas.

You can’t even really go out like that cause now you the one weirdo who NOT doing shots and not getting tipsy.

Not even tryna diss folks who drink. It’s just like DAMN :wtf: folks really don’t have any kind of social engagement without drinks. shyt lowkey sad looking from the outside. Again NO hate at all towards them cause I get it…but damn

not drinking in your 20s definitely isolates you, youll find out who your real ones are

So OP doesn’t drink yet makes a thread about how hard it is to quit alcohol? Also saying social media is a trigger? What?

lol if I have weed I genuinely give 0 fukks about Alcohol. Its easy to refrain from liquor cause I almost aways and up feeling like shyt after a night of it. Whereas weed just makes me hungry and sleepy. So my brain doesn't associate anything negative about weed other than the hole it creates in my pocket but at the back of my mind because I make good income it doesn't get it to me much.

Liquor dehydrates you, lowers testosterone, etc etc you can make good gains in the gym purely smoking weed but liquor will diminish them due to its reduction in protein synthesis (how your body manages the protein you consume) that was another deterrent on why I don't drink like in my early 20s. I get it, alcohol makes literally anything or situation exciting but you have to consciously discipline yourself to remember you're literally drinking liquid poison to feel geeked. :yeshrug:

I'm 2 years sober so that shyt is my everyday. You not drinking makes other people reflect and confront their own issues with alcohol. I stay with a non-alcoholic beer (Athletic makes good shyt) or LaCroix, just so others aren't tryna offer me shyt or asking a bunch of questions. Once everyone else is 2-3 drinks in they stop giving a shyt.

Sober 7 years. Took me years to get sober for more than a few days at a time. Don’t give up the fight breh. Go to NA or AA if you have to. Once you been sober for a while, you realize you never needed that shyt at all.

Do companies spend millions advertising their products on social media for the fun of it?

And he didn't blame his drinking habits on social media. You know that he was referring to what he sees on SM to highlight what people do for a good time, but this is more about you pumping your chest and flexing on the younger generation.
And impressionable people with no sense of self or mental fortitude are the people that fall victim to it. Stop trying to coddle him from the notion that he is easily influenced. The idea that you want to say that people are Waikato indulgences by marketing but have a problem with someone pointing that people are easily influenced is hilarious. Accept it. If you can be easily influenced, by social media no less, you are weak.

And it ain’t a flex to observe how weak something is. Stop whining.

You can't nurse a beer in the corner and not get drunk?
Yep I quit liquor but I'll still drink beer or wine. I don't miss drinking and getting drunk but I did miss the social gatherings. Now I'll go and have a beer or two and everyone is happy

Neck ties and boxing gloves.
A year of sobriety is less than two weeks away for me. While I miss craft beer and premium whiskey, I needed to test my resolve and see if I could go this long without a single sip.

:francis:
Congratulations.

I've been a year sober since the 14th.
