I assume we talkin about prime Em. If Em woulda retied after 8mile, I think more people would respect his skills a lot more than they do. That c@c was monster. I miss old Shady :mjcry:

Kendrick is overrated as hell doe. I just want him to make a song I like. I liked Money Trees, and thats it :beli:
but he has 2 of the most acclaimed albums of the last few years, therefore it means a lot of people either love or respect his music.

ain't nobody care about ur individual opinion.. I could say eminem is overrated because I think sslp, mmlp & tes are garbage... only song I like is marshall Mathers, thats the only one.

You realize these lists are based on popularity and nothing else, right ? :aicmon:

I mean they got Kanye's verse from New Slaves @number 3.

I throw these Maybach keys
I wear my heart on the sleeve
I know that we the new slaves
I see the blood on the leaves
I see the blood on the leaves
I see the blood on the leaves
I know that we the new slaves
I see the blood on the leaves
:heh:

so :childplease:

btw I love that verse, it just doesn't fit lyrical criteria very much, it's good verse delivery wise. Same with Kendrick's verse.

And that Earl Sweatshirt verse on Hive that they listed was more lyrical than K-dot's.:comeon:
See you didn't get new slaves, suggest looking it up on Rap genius.

kendrick is def one of the greatest lyricists of our time, he has the whole package. It doesn't matter if you have a nice bar, it has to flow well with the rest of the verse, its not rocket science, your pen's game has to be great otherwise you should post them "bars" on twitter :beli:

lol at the guy who mentioned astro, badass and wale. The last time I heard a wale project, dude had 1 good line for each song and the rest was pure filler, shyt had nothing to do with the actual bars :dead:

Eminem has sales on his side, so he has evidence of millions of people agreeing with me. More millions than Kendrick :beli:

Kanye gets the best reviews yet I find each album after CD to be :ehh: Fukk critical acclaim.

Edit: and u sound butthurt :beli:

i would put ab-soul over kendrick when it comes to lyricism
meh. Kendrick is most definitely a better lyricist than ab soul. Kendrick is just more versatile and makes songs for everybody while ab soul tries to stay in that lyrical lane. But hes def not better than kendrick

soul is very 1 dimensional and only has one subject matter with forced punchlines and wack metaphor.. hes a pseudo intellectual.

lol kendrick is most definitely not a better lyricist and he himself even admits that, and soul is 1 dimensional and only does 1 subject matter? :dahell: did you peep his last album (shyt was more like a mixtape though)

i'll give you kendrick being versatile, but that's only because he is the most versatile in their group. Q does the party rap, j roc does the og shyt, and soulo flies in that lyrical lane

NO NO NO NO

with the words, if we're talking PURE lyricism, Kendrick is definitely HEAD and shoulders above wale, ab soul and speciallY JOE TRASHASS

Joey is not a lyricist, he rhymes for the sake of it, he ain't saying shyt, NOTHING. Don't underrate kendrick because hes an artist, when he has to be lyrical;, hes way more lyrical than 80% of the artists you mentioned.

and dude is right, ab soul is wack, hes trying too hard to have bars but all of them are CORNY

Uh....yes yes yes yes?

Calling joey bada$$ trash invalidates the rest of your post breh.

and Ab Soul said several times that he can not fukk with kendrick.

Jay Rock and kendrick are more lyrical than soul,n its not even close

eh... Kendrick is imo the best lyricist of this generation, and I'm not only talking about the mainstream.
People like Ab-Soul , freddie and los are good but not on Kendrick's level.

If you think ab soul is better than its only because you're an ab soul fan, you just can't put your bias aside.

Lyricism is how the rapper expresses his theme, message, or emotions. Creativity is important in lyricism. Similes, metaphors, entendres, word play, punchlines, etc, all help make a verse more creative or original, but they aren’t totally necessary. You can be lyrical by having original thoughts or ideas, or being deeply introspective. I think lyricism is the more subjective of the two, because people see things differently just based off of their personal experiences or personality.

Ra is only saying that because kendrick is popular.

as a pure lyricist, kendrick is way better (and the word "way is important than Ab-Soul, Joey Badass (lol at mentioning that kid in the discussion), Wale, Cole, Freddie Gibbs and the rest of that group.
He ain't on Lupe or Elzhi levels but I don't consider them as new rappers.
