Pretty solid late 90s group. Made some good albums. I’d put them under JE and Dru Hill as well.

1.) Their debut is their classic album. Only essential album in their catalog. The others have hits, but the debut is nearly top to bottom good.

2.) Of their era, they are about even with Jagged Edge and Dru Hill overall. Out of the three groups, 112 is like comparing Total to Xscape and SWV vocally. They are third.

3.) No group or artist is anything without production.

4.) Yes

Very solid discography and really good vocalists (besides slim…wish they would’ve let Q and Darren lead more songs). But I think they are severely underrated for their time, seems people can’t get past jodeci/boys ii men on the singing side and mint condition/tony Toni tone on the band side. Dru Hill sneaks in occasionally, then 112 and JE are kinda just there when their discography and singles are above dru hill IMO

I used to hoop with Deron at LA Fitness. Was a chill dude. His personality would prevent him from being lead.

I never thought they were the best singers but saw them perform live at an HBCU battle of the bands and I was surprised how good they sound
None of them are known for much personality…are you saying his personality would prevent him as in he’s too boring or as in he’s too humble?

And Q and Daron were the finest ones in the group, they absolutely should’ve been more in the forefront based on voices and looks.

I don't think he's boring or humble. Just being around him he's just more into the background.

You gotta have showmanship to be the lead singer in a group.

Slim has that and a unique voice.

I actually think jojo is a better singer than kci. But kci got that showmanship

They were wack to me. Just could never get into their stuff. I got Jodeci, JE, Mint Condition, Dru Hill, Blackstreet, B2M, Silk, Tony! Toni! Tone!, and H-Town are all better
