No more R&B producers coming up through the Church or Performing Arts Programs and not having solid music theory/musicianship.

Producers today are lazy af and their best effort is to chop up a 90s sample and add some synth and hi-hat runs.....

Pathetic all around...

Yeah it’s not as good as it was from the 60s-90s. This new generation is mostly trash. My boyfriend loves R&B and he’s introduced me to some new music that wasn’t hip too. Some of its alright.

Have you heard of little simz?

The point of OP's thread went over most people's head. Good music exists, you just have to go find it. OP's issue as with a lot Gen Z men, is that there's a feeling that good women that have mutual interest seemingly don't exist. I would say he just has to find them but I know that's exponentially harder than finding good music.

@Rozay Oro I have tons of love music, because if music is good and the content isn't too far fetched I'll rock with it. From Marvin to Miguel, Diana to D'Angelo, etc. I largely skip when it comes up unless I'm in a genuinely good mood or high. This is day 3 of a sobriety kick to keep my tolerance in check so there won't be much love/in live songs, may let the right heartbreak/jaded songs play though.

Composition/musical elements wise I like R&B, but I get what you mean in the sense that it's hard to relate to/fully enjoy a joint like "Forever My Lady" when it's more likely than not you won't find a woman. If you look into the artists lives these songs are a reflection of their lives at the moment. Most don't have one long enduring marriage. Many never had kids/settled down, or went through multiple marriages, etc. Hell a lot of the best songs in the genre were written by a songwriter and performed by completely different vocalist so the song isn't even their experience or sentiments really.

Brent Fayaiz/Sonder is dope.

Edit: @Bossino aw I understand now.

I enjoyed R&B love music before I even fell in love and still do after a semi-recent bad break up. It actually cheers me up and makes me feel optimistic.

Y’all posting that low energy boring shyt in this thread :mjlol:
