Classic interview where Solar catches feelings over the interviewer saying their first collaboration didn't get very good reviews... Solar goes on to call himself a super producer and top producer with chart topping hits and such.

This interview...amongst many is why I hate this Solar nikka. He has too much of a high opinion of himself and he's so bitter.

Man, y'all need to stop this nonsense about Guru being gay. I've already explained this on here. If any of you would of followed the fukk solar blog back when the whole situation came up you would realize that this man took advantage of Guru in a weak state. Basically, when Guru and Preem seperated, he was drinking heavy. He met Solar and he helped him quit drinking but then used his 5% religion to manipulate him. He seperated him from his family and friends and basically brainwashed him. This was out of jealously and a really disturbing obsession with Guru and trying to use his fame to piggyback off of (which failed).

There were many situations where women would flock to Guru while on tour and Solar would get jealous because they were gravitating towards him and had no clue who Solar was. The jealously even extended to onstage performances where he was mad that Guru got the loudest applause whereas no one knew who Solar was. This was also the situation when Guru and Solar toured Europe on the Jazzmatazz tour. Solar's jealousy and ego wouldn't allow him to not be the star of the show even when Guru had the bigger and more prolific body of work. He sent threats to his tour DJ Doo Wop (who quit because of it amongst other things) and his trumpet player Brownman (who shed light on the whole situation for several publications and online outlets following Guru's passing). He had insane rider demands that were not realistic for someone of his caliber...he forced people to refer to him as "lord" and "god", he even got verbally abusive with people involved on the Jazzmatazz tour.

Solar went on to do many interviews where he would slander DJ Premier and spoke on Guru's behalf. Solar even beat up Guru during a backstage incident (apparently) and it was only when Guru was starting to have an asthma attack that he stopped (this was based from an account by a woman close to Guru and Solar). At the end of the day, Solar was a master manipulator and a money hungry demon. He forced Guru to go on tour even during the later stages of his battle with cancer and it was obvious the demands of touring exhausted him and possibly accelerated his demise.

To top that off, he even tried to redirect Gangstarr royalties in his name and use the Gangstarr name, license, and logo without written legal permission.

Before he died, he did everything he could to make sure his immediate family didn't see Guru in the hospital. His nephew talked about it in various youtube videos.

He even went so far as to fabricate a "final letter" where he referred to Premier as his "ex-DJ" and mentioned himself atleast 5 times.

He even had the audacity to try to tour with Jazzmatazz after Guru's passing with members of Living Colour (remember them?)

EXCLUSIVE: Solar Resurfaces; Announces Jazzmatazz Touring Band | AllHipHop.com

It fell flat cause there was no draw without Guru and by that time Solar was hated so much in the industry.

This guy is a snake, a liar, a coattail rider, and a scumbag. TBCH, I'm surprised he is not six feet under.

This snake ass nikka even had the audacity to make this unofficial Sade remix to try to milk more dollars from Guru's estate.

Solar also makes numerous aliases on various websites to promote himself when the overwhelming amount of comments towards him are negative.

Man, when Guru passed it really tore me up. I remember Gangstarr being one of my favorite groups coming up as a youngin and Guru being one of my favorite Mcs. Dude had such a great presence on the mic and was dope while keeping it simple and street. His story was really inspirational to me.He was the son of one of the most prominent legal representatives in Boston. Originally Gangstarr was Big Shug and Guru. Their plans to fund their first recordigs came from a robbery in Boston in which Shug got arrested for and Guru backed out. He moved to NYC and met Premier, a transplant from Houston, TX. When Gangstarr got signed, he hit up Shug with mad paper after he got out and was provided with a spot w/ The Gangstarr foundation.

When he passed it atleast gave one of my favorite groups, Group Home an opportunity to hit the world with their third LP after over a decade. There was beef with the gangstarr foundation with Jeru and Group Home, but with Guru's passing, they were able to come to peace and make amends.

That's why I know that letter that Guru supposedly wrote was bullshyt. When people die, they make amends with their family and friends and don't hold grudges.

RIP Guru, you were one of a kind. Hip-hop misses you.
