A lot of us nikkaz from the hood aint just sitting around listening to fukkin' Gucci Mane and fukkin' ratchet bytches all day. Some of us love music of all types, especially if you grew up in the '90s when MTV was still decent and playing good music.
A lot that music was bland and annoying bruh. I liked some songs from that Era, I know white people worship those bands and thought they had a movement which was gonna last forever but it died out pretty quick. Quicker than metal/hair bands. I would say 70s early 80s rock was a better white rock era. Wasn't so dreary and pretentious.

The '90s with Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Pumpkins, NIN, etc. . .actually got nikkaz like me into rock and I fukking hated rock growing up.
They saved the whole genre.
My cousins and my sister and I fukked with MTV heavy. Some videos were played so much you couldn't help but know some rock songs. "Smells like teen spirit" is the first rock video I can remember.
Most these guys were addicts before they hit it big and then when they got more money I'm sure they just bought more drugs
