Still how was it possible for him to get into Kenwood. Don't you have to apply? Have test scores, etc?

He used to hoop so probably a scholarship

R Kelly has that magical charming shyt that some nikkas are just blessed with. People do things for him and let him get away with everything.

He been said he can't read too well...

He only started being able to read by texting...

The reason why he can't read is because he has dyslexia...

The Confessions Of R. Kelly
“Other kids could read, other kids could write, other kids could spell, they could do math,” he says. “I felt like an alien, I felt like an outcast. I felt like, ‘What is going to happen to me?’ My mother couldn't answer it. My stepfather wasn't really interested in it one way or another. And my brothers and sisters were so young at the time they wouldn't do nothing but tease me about it. I was the ‘dummy’: ‘How you gon’ do this? You can't even read!' ”

He says it's not like he didn't try, and he describes what would happen when he did: “I would always hear scrambled music, like an orchestra going off that didn't know what they was doing. It was so confusing. It was, like, violin's playing ‘I Believe I Can Fly,’ the bass is playing ‘When a Woman's Fed Up,’ the guitar's playing ‘Bump N' Grind,’ the piano's playing a gospel song. And then I would end up getting really sleepy and tired.”
Straight from the horses mouth but Coli dudes still flailing their arms about it like little kids :loldenzel2:

I use to volunteer tutor at this middle school when I was in high school. It was 6th-7th graders reading at a 3rd grade level :mjcry:

I blame the parent(s), my dad would sit down and read to me almost every night when I was a youngin
That's exactly what the problem is. The lesson begins and ends at school. Some time is set aside for homework but those kids aren't absorbing that.

No wonder he preys on children. They are the only people he has anything in common with. :scust:

this.

How are people on this board not even aware of this?

This is common knowledge.

He's admitted it on video before

I distinctly remember pretending that the song “I believe I can Fly” was about him trying to learn to read. I just changed “Fly” to “Read”

:yeshrug: It was kinda ass-holish but i was in the 6th grade and I thought it was hilarious. Matter fact I’m about to revisit those good times and listen to song again :heh:

Some of you guys have to have been living in a bubble if you didn't know this, it's old news. Hell dude didn't even know how to spell his mom's name. For those of you asking how does he mix/engineer, etc, it ain't that hard if you are a musically gifted. I think Stevie Wonder working the mixing board is way more impressive.

R. Kelly's lack of understanding of the English language actually is what enhances his creativity. This is why everything he sings about is metaphoric or personified, dude is the king of comparing himself and others to inanimate objects with reckless abandon. Think about it, half the shyt he thought of, most of us lack the homonymic creativity and phonetic license to pull off. I mean wordplay is one thing, but some of the stuff he's gotten away with is just foolish...but genius at the same time.
-Getting 12 Play from Fore (four) Play? -You remind me of my Jeep I wanna ride it? No you drive Jeeps, you ride horses. -Half on a Baby? A technical nikka like myself would have been on some "well actually..".

The fact that he's a "song-writer" is probably why you'd never consider it, because he not mispronouncing words like Mary J. Blige, who probably is only slightly a better reader than R just because of necessity. Truth be told, it ain't just athletes and musicians, I know nikkas with college degrees that can't read. Matter fact, I know a nikka with a Master's who's been getting away with the excuse of not having his glasses for years and nobody has called him out on it cuz he's otherwise "good at what he does". To be fair, a lot of it is undiagnosed dyslexia or autism spectrum within our community, but some nikkas just flat out never have been held accountable for not knowing how to read. Hell it's nikkas on this forum that don't understand the concept of main ideas, constructing a complete thought, sarcasm, rhetorical questions, or how to effectively engage in a debate, but since they know how to sound out words that they are effective readers, smh.
