First off smh at you judging the "genius" of it based on the lack of creativity YOU have in using his music. Secondly, It's a little bit early in the game to be sampling R. Kelly's shyt. Hiphop was literally built on sampling the likes of Isaac Hayes [Biz Markie - Make the music with your mouth came out in '86]. Third, hiphop is based on sampling non-hiphop, no kidding that you can sample a nonhiphop [Isaac Hayes] much easier than a hiphop artist [R. Kelly]. Lastly, R. Kelly's music will def be sampled heavily in the future, in fact he has been sampled already and it produced a top 40 hit:

:stopitslime: We going act like this aint been sampled and will continue to be sampled:

Breezy and Trey have already stated who da gawd is

:dahell: Underrated and overrated at the two most overused and incorrectly used words in the language :snoop:. Everybody and their mama (literally) respects R. Kelly's talent and output. He's widely regarded as a genius and the legend that he is. He's just not as relevant in 2014 as he was 20 years ago. :manny: It happens to all the greats.

He's been a punchline since his statutory case

:dahell:
Because he got caught on tape pissing on a 13 yr old. Is that not worthy of some derision at the very least? We gonna act like Mike wasn't a punchline until he died?

Being shyt on for doing some foul shyt and being recognized as a genius are not mutually exclusive.

Ill give y'all RnB singer ever..

But lets not confuse this with the greatest SOUL singers. Singers, like O. Redding, Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye Teddy P, Luther.. etc...

R Kelly aint touching that
R Kelly definitely has soul. That nikka almost had an aneurism at the beginning of Bump N Grind singing about how his mind is telling him no lol

But we still talk about certain geniuses on almost a daily basis. He's right up there with the greats

Like who? People talk about Mike because he's dead and was the biggest star ever. I don't hear about Little Richard, James Brown (even though he just had a movie out), Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, Smokie Robinson etc. like that on the regular in 2014. We live in a "what's hot now" culture.
