Boy WWE is batting a thousand on bad optics right now. Letting go of a beloved black male wrestler, while getting redy to bring in a white woman that you really don't need. I haven't even watched a full episode of RAW or SD the last few months. I catch highlights and unless something drastically changes that's how it's going to be for a while.
The red hat roast the week of wrestlemania which was predictably little more than racism and misogyny hosted by the guy whose act is most just racism, extra Saudi shows, leaning heavy into promoting Logan Paul and his go away heat, everything with how they’ve booked Chad Gable, the rock pulling the curtain all the way back every time he shows up, moving raw to Netflix and then covering the ring in more advertisements than Yankee stadium, giving the saudis the royal rumble next year, refusing to fire def rebel when half the roster openly wants them gone, still not changing their main title belt design, Cena turning heel only to botch the entire follow up, Heyman publicly burying Braun stroman who’d been busting his ass to help get other guys over a week before he gets fired, pulling Baylee from the wrestlemania card a week before the event while she’s healthy, not finding a spot on either night for the tag team title TLC match despite the majority of air time across both nights being spent on non wrestling stuff, leaning way too hard into the celebrity stuff, affiliating with hogan, showing up to support Linda McMahon as she openly works to undo as much of the civil rights movement as she can, jacking up prices as much as they can and then celebrating their profit margins on tv, botching new day’s heel run, mass deportation jokes given what’s going on at home and abroad, taking an eternity to follow up on any angle, refusing to do any major title changes at events besides wrestlemania so now other shows feel like they barely matter, moving other shows to 2 night events, needing to do as many shows as possible in football or baseball sized stadiums, relying on the rock for half their top plans for the wrestlemania card when there was no guarantee he’d be available, jacking up the price of their annual 2K game which is full of microtransactions, pay to win stuff, and day one cut content DLC to somewhere from $80-130, rarely ever having top guys actually have matches on weekly tv tapings, and I’m sure a ton of other things I’ve probably forgotten. We’re almost back to pre Vince getting pushed out levels of negativity around the product again.
