You're gonna have this in any country with different races living together. Name me a single multi racial country where they all get along perfectly well and have no problems. It doesn't exist.

This is why I love going back to ghana to see my pops family. The country is 99.9% black and it's a good feeling walking around people who look just like you. Going to shops, bars, clubs owned and full of people who look just like you. That feeling is just :wow: especially if you've been a visible minority all your life.

I've been in Angola 4 years ago and the mixed population are on that :mjpls: . Basically the Portuguese left the country and they replaced them. Sometimes a black person can't get in a nightclub, while mixed and whites can with no problems.

Personally i think the lucky countries in Africa who have a tiny non existent non black population should keep it that way. Bringing them into a poor country where they have the capital and know how to dominate the economy will only bring more poverty and discrimination. We've seen it happen in Southern Africa, Kenya Uganda etc and now with the Chinese.

Only bring them in when you're a fully developed country where the natives are well educated, rich and can compete with the new arrivals. If not you're dooming your own people to subservience and humiliation in their own land.

Whats stopping them from fixing their 'issue'...

?

Education mostly, and it's gift of a developed love for sympathetic cacs once money is obtained. nikkas are just trynna live that hollywood lifestyle if they can afford to.

Edit: Oh and by education I don't just mean academic education. But racial education, which there isn't any class or school for...heck, there are barely any portuguese translated books on racial education.

So the racial landscape in Angola is a map with no lines. You don't know whom or what you'll bump into and vice-versa.

Internet Access is not so bad. Angolans usually use the net for the same reason as the average American though. But yeah we do have the advantage of the internet which is not censored at all like in China or Islamic countries (Iran, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan for instance).
I don't see any way out of this mess except through not just dialogue (because as amazing as it is, dialogue can be very constricted) but also books and articles on race written by an Angolan for Angolans. In fact I've been thinking of doing this myself once I get back home, just figuring out what's what and how to approach it.

Except any mention of them being a problem will paint a dark-skin breh as a villain. 'Cause everybody knows that mullatos are black too, so why would they discriminate against their fellow kind? To make matters worse, a lot of dark-skin brehs are worse on the :mjpls: than mullatos (even though they 'hate' them).

What are online communities where I can socialize with Angolans?

So are most of the women are on that :mjpls: too?

What are the demographics of Luanda-Sol? Mostly blacks or "others"? Because I have read that most of the new houses are being owned by "foreigners" and not the natives, so its nice to know from someone whose actually been there.

What about the new businesses? Are they dominated by blacks or others?

The only one I know aside from the music websites is the Angolan reddit, but the reddit one although not portuguese has a lot of cac input from Europeans living in Angola. So socialization may be difficult but quite a bit of Angolans used to/are living in London/South-Africa/US so the language barrier shouldn't be insurmountable.

Most of the real socializing is done on facebook though. Which I don't use at all tbh.

Women can heavily be on that :mjpls:. Depending on what you bring to the table though, it's not on a woman's nature to be too obsessed with looks; status and money still rule just like everywhere else.
Generally speaking though, Angolan women don't give two fukks about dating foreigners. They usually just blame it on Angolan men not being faithful and KIM.

"Yo Jessica, you're dating a portuguese man now?!" :dahell:
"Well yeah, I like him, he likes me so why not? :mjpls: You don't expect me to go back to your best friend Luís do you?:mjpls: He cheated on me remember?:win:"
"I see...you're right I guess :sas2:".

:queen:

As for businesses, it's not like you're gonna see White men with cigars hanging out and about everywhere. Don't even let your mind draw that picture...it's much more complex.

Try picturing a table with 7 rich black men (5 dark-skinned and 2 light-skinned) talking about racism coming from their fellow brethren. All the while outside said fellow racist brethren aren't being allowed to come into the posh restaurant, with cac foreigners coming in by the numbers. Fell me?

The dark-skinned still rule thanks to the current President not letting shyt get too preposterous, but they are also the ones with the most self-hate. Which is exactly the problem that needs to be addressed through education...and the same problem that gives cacs and mullatos grounds to not be at the bottom of the totem-pole all the while still having heavy connections with the top dark-skinned brehs that occupy positions of powers (due to skin color).

Yeah I think Dos Santos is doing good for the country, but Im on the outside looking in thus I really don't know the common conscious for him, but he is a dictator though, so I don't know if he's truly autocratic or not. I've read his daughter is like the richest "black" woman in Africa now, swindling billions. I say he's doing good because I see the wealth trickling down from Luanda to the minor cities that were destroyed from the civil war. Cities like Huambo and other smaller town and cities (like the tiny enclave surrounded by another country to the north, name escapes me).

And nice to see that the president isn't letting the others getting to close to the richest, as noted I've seen the board of the government control Sonangol, which is black from top to bottom #blackexcellence. I tried looking up the boards of the major banks and other business like the national grocery store, but to no avail I see it's mostly SA owned or Portuguese.

Angola was one of the Africans countries that I really want to visit one day, so I have done my research on the country. But still what about the demographics of Luanda-Sul, the bustling brand-new city that is flourishing out of the oil revenue? Do you see a lot of black Angolans still living in poverty or do you a change in the monetary distribution to the black populace? Thanks.

Err...Angolans will generally agree with the bold but will think you're a fool...but given that you're a foreigner, most likely they'll instead think you're very respectful and just a lil' naive instead.:ehh: EDIT: Just to clarify, you might want to be looked at that way too unless you want to be seen as a devil foreigner that's hellbent on causing disruption. We've had a lot of encounter with those (see Reagan and Savimbi).

The little city that looks like it could be a part of Congo rather than Angola is Cabinda...a city in which quite some people have been trying to gain independence from Angola but we usually just give them that China treatment (dafuq is you going?:birdman:). So they aren't getting independent anytime soon.

The President, like I said somewhere above, is truly an Enigma. The closest I could compare him to would be a savvy drug dealer who knows when the right actions are good for the overall business and when it's time to fukk over good people to keep the business running. I personally don't really hate him, but nor do I love him. He's just good at the chessboard. Good enough to rule for decades and keep the Snakes mostly in check (although he's not as good as he used to be). He's at that point where most of his strength is used to maintain a status quo that is not good for the average Angolan.
But politicians aren't dumb enough to not do good here and there, so there's that aspect of human nature to thank for.

You're Always welcome in Angola, especially if you're a western foreigner (black or otherwise). As for blacks living in poverty, there's still a lot, although the rule of time dictates that nothing stays static so naturally there's a lot of come ups at the moment by black entrepreneurs. The coolest person at the moment, for Angolans of all classes, is one of the President's sons (Coréon Dú) who isn't afraid to reach out to the dark-skinned disadvantaged who are talented enough to take Angola's art to the next level. Cinema, soap operas, movies, music, homie has the capital to shape it all...and he seems to be doing it the right way. With barely any cacs in his works, and a lot of shine to Dark-skinned brehs as protagonists. Unlike the other business minded children (like our 'Oprah' and the Zénu) he seems to have the most consciousness and gall to tackle stereotypes and matters of representation.

The poverty levels are diminishing for sure since a lot of money is flourishing. But again, my worries aren't only the foreigners but the fact that economic growth is not nearly enough to curb the problems we could face in the future due to race. Cacs don't help, but we shouldn't expect them too either, they go to Angola to cake and that's it.

The money trickles down (if it didn't then there'd be space for another civil war, 'cause there's a lot of money), but the real sacrifices aren't being made. That's what I'm trynna say really.
