What's crazy to me is the complete and utter lack of an ability for Americans to see anything through the lens of economics. It's never "we, working class Americans" or god forbid "we, the working poor."

Everything is seen through the lens of race, political party, and maybe religion. "They fukking over the wyatt mann" "Conservatives blah blah blah" "There's a war on Christianity"

Nah we all getting fukked over if we aren't part of the class that has real ownership of land, resources, production & distribution.

If you do that you're a "socialist/communist". The biggest thing the right has done everywhere is totally destroy worker solidarity (and of course trade unions) and convince the guy getting minimum wage that the other guy getting minimum wage is the enemy because he's of a different color/religion/etc. As opposed to working together against the capitalist who's getting rich off of both of them.

he sounds like he took the fba/both sides talking points and flipped them for his own self-serving purposes. which begs the question, is the "no tangibles, no vote" philosophy self-serving anyhow even coming from the fba/both sides camp? self-serving because they followed through and took the whole black community with them back to the 1960's instead of understanding that the tenuous nature of black politics in this country is one of survival and that every election is a vote for survival. and to not vote or to vote for the enemy is to crucify us. just some food for thought.

He sounds like pretty much everybody who has either voted for their "team" begrudgingly several voting cycles if not the entire time they've been eligible to vote with nothing real on the day to day life they live to show for it.

FBA may have packaged it up first but that is the sentiment of the biggest voting bloc in the country, NON VOTERS/#Bothsiders as people like to frame them on here. Everything he siad besides the bit about republicans making any real effort to appease minorities is true and exactly how most people in the middle feel about the team they've been conditioned and harassed to give unyielding political support to.

The issue is that it was always going to come back to cacs waking up to the same pain we feel before anything fundamentally changed. As beautiful and humane as black people are to go to war and sacrifice for everyone else's rights, there was no saving them from this lesson. Look at how many democrats co-signed celebrating a white supremacist, what are black folks supposed to do with that? Hide behind a good massa like Gavin Newsome so we can 'survive' while he's in power? The timing of this did not come down to who voted it...it's just time...
