It really depends on where the immigrants are from. its actually very common for some immigrants to be loaded on day one. I suppose in defense of that poster, the video didn't tell us where the immigrant was from.
The origin country determines how they come to America because different pathways are open only for certain people. Some of these pathways allow them to have luxury cars immediately after leaving the proverbial boat. Others are locked out.
For example the only people who are eligible for factory work, farm work, and service work visas to America are from Latin America and the Caribbean. Such an option is impossible for an African or an East Asian or even a European.
Most Latin Americans in Islanders take these routes because it's a path of least resistance.

Now compared that to
a place like East Asia or even South Asia where the only way into America is through h1bs and family migration. So it's entirely possible for somebody to leave a boat and immediately enter a dentist job or a software engineer job or chemist job where they do have a fancy sports car if they are Asian because it's one of the few ways they can come to America.
Africans are a bit of a mixed bag.
Africans are
under similar restrictions to Asians but they also have more categories available to them than Latin Americans and Caribbeans due to the unstable countries. So while I've certainly seen Kenyans and Nigerians who've come to America to be software engineers or even lawyers using h-1bs and family migration; you may also see Africans coming to be immigrants based on being asylees or refugees from Somalia or Sierra Leone. Also Africans don't see an issue with trying things which are long shot odds like the Visa lottery so there's a bunch of greencard lottery Africans.
I know Haitians are Islanders, But they also have the same diversity as Africans and how they immigrate to America . The path of least resistance is similar to africans from somalia or drc due to how unstable their country is. But you also have a few who leave their country to be architects or engineers in America on day one.

Southeast Asians are
also something of a mixed bag because a few of them are eligible for the refugee and the asylee status meaning they arrive on day one with no income and must struggle. Think of Vietnamese who came immediately after the war or cambodians who were fleeing the khmer rouge. But then you have those like singaporeans or Malaysians who are ineligible for asylee/refugee and must come as surgeons or pharmacists or entrepreneurs on EB5.
So it's really important to specify which immigrants If you want to discuss their success or how quickly immigrants become successful or even how common success is. This last point is slightly off topic, but thats also why the silly racial statistics are meaningless Because some people are limited to being high achievers based on their origin nation on day one.

But, let’s say that on average, immigrants ARE coming over here well-off and successful.
