You forgot to mention Where I End And You Begin, easily one of their best songs.

Radiohead - Where I End and You Begin - YouTube

This thread actually made me redownload Hail to the Thief (hadnt listened in about two yrs) and I forgot which track that was. Definitely up there, it used to stay on repeat. The bass riff and the ending :why:

Planet Telex, Climbing up the Walls, Airbag are probably my top 3. I still havent listened to anything after Hail to the Thief for the most part though.

edit: Nobody has mentioned Planet Telex :why:

OK Computer is a top 10 album ever for me. Climing up the Walls would make a perfect hip hop sample, that Banks track doesnt do it justice either so dont go mentioning that.

@charmander, you should start fukking with Tool, the Smashing Pumpkins too if you like Radiohead.

i like hail to the thief too...the gloaming, backdrifts, sail to the moon, a wolf at the door, where i end and you begin, we suck young blood, myxomatosis are all :wow:

i would rank their albums like this:

Kid A
OK Computer
Amnesiac
Hail To The Thief
The Bends
In Rainbows

i haven't listened to the last one they came out with, and i pretend Pablo Honey doesn't exist

I've been trying for years to get into radiohead because friends try to put me on. I re-start the mission every year and I like their sound, but I don't like the singer's voice so it never works. Maybe, the cat is too emo-sounding for me :manny: Vocalists I don't like can turn me to groups, but I also realize their music wouldn't be what it was if he didn't sound the way he sounded.

Like I could listen to a radiohead CD of just the music with no vocals and love it, and listen to it with the vocals and be annoyed. I imagine that I'd enjoy them live though.

:salute: @charmander for having diverse musical tastes, we need more of that in here. I could never get anyone but epic to write non-hip hop music reviews for the front page.

I remember all the 90's shows on mtv used to play this beat in the background and I never knew what it was til I saw creep come on at like 3 am one weekend.

This thread is bringing back 90's flashbacks :patrice:

any of you remember this one?

Center self, inner self

When my father was dying, I kept "Pyramid Song" on repeat. I swear it was a message from him about how he was doing in the afterlife. Just the part about meeting all of his lovers and swimming with angels and moving in a white ball...I swear it was him telling me about his trip to heaven. "There was nothing to fear and nothing to doubt." :wow:
:wow:

ok computer is dope but Kid A is prolly their best album

maybe it's just because i'm such a dark brooding emo fakkit

Agreed. Kid A is a top 5 fav album of mine, regardless of genre.

yeah, thematically ok computer was radiohead at their darkest....but the reason it's so revered is because they incorporated those themes of despair and isolation over catchy pop rhythms

kid a had the same feel to it, only with the music to match :manny:

i don't really care for traditional cac rock, which is more or less what the bends is, but i've grown to appreciate a few tracks from it.....fake plastic trees, street spirit and the acoustic version of black star are classics

I started out listening to OK Computer and Kid A first, which is why it took me awhile to like their more traditional rock sounding albums (Pablo Honey, The Bends). I wonder if that's the case for you? :cacmjpls:

nikkas discovering Radiohead is like CACs discovering good hip-hop. Always 10-years too late. :heh:

Nigs used to clown when I rocked the OK Computer tape in middle school, now nigs all over it. :myman:

Hey, this is no competition. Music is music, and is here for everyone to discover at the appropriate time.
