Rae needs a joint alc album...These beats are ASS...Yall in denial. Denny Laflare, Conductor, alc, bronze Naz, Thelonious Martin, Harry Fraud are all names that come to mind that could of blessed raes voice and lyrics. This is B team level production he got on here, Roads Art is his old sound man from the unexpected victory/Hidden Jewels era back in the 2010s. Mixtape level beats...

The ones who are looking past this are just reticent to shyt on Rae on an otherwise good album.
The reason why he (and GFK) get killed for their beats are because it feels like the solution is right in front of them. The Daringers and Heartbreakers of the game are probably waiting with a beat pack CD that just says “Raekwon if he ever calls.”
Even someone like MadeinTYO been going in lately. Audubon Ballroom one of my favorite songs all year. GFK woulda sent that beat to Heaven and made it eligible for sainthood

Why this dude has not produced a whole Wu album is beyond me. His catalog is mad consistent and he has been the best Wu producer in the past 20 years. He deserved that honestly
I felt like the album got better and more varied towards the 2nd half. Lyrically I loved it.
On the production side I felt some highs and lows. All the samples/loops were cool, the drums sounded like Rae got signed to G-unit in 05-06 and released a bunch of remastered vault tracks.
Overall I enjoyed hearing Raekwon being able to show he still got it decades after his debut.

All the beats are corny... Corny soul horns and simple piano riff shyt. These wu dudes just can't get anything right anymore.
There's nothing memorable about any of these beats.

I agree with the criticism of his producer/beat selection.
Rae still sounds sharp and on point but I think the beats sound a little dated but they work for his style I guess

Its almost like some of you dont even like or listen to rae. He has a style he does. Every album. Same thing each time. And people keep praying togods for fake rza beats when he has rzas entire catalogue on hold for him if he wanted.
He wants the stuff the other big rappers get. Not guys doing homage tracks to him.

Its nice when he goes that route but its few and FAR between and every album yall repeat. Its just raes style itself . For every butter knives are 3 mediocre wannabe pop street beats. When he does them tracks, it pops cuz he dont have 100s of them. Thats how he keeps the cuban series special.
