No doubt. Ghost still drops quality projects.

But when I listen to him and Rae’s modern music…Rae still sounds way more like the prime version of himself than Ghost in terms of freshness and his flow. He & Nas have that in common.

I’m trying to be nice about it but if I’m keeping honest I feel like Ghost has sounded a little for a while now.

Ghost been washed for 15 years now. We don't talk about it enough, but he had one of the biggest fall offs ever.

Etc

And think ghost actually wrotethose? Those were full projects made ahead of time for him.


Ghost has wiggs, sheek, solomon, trife, shooter93, nems … people you wouldnt even expect and would be mad at writing songs for him. He dont gaf. Supreme 2 he does.

Last ghost album was wizard of poetry

The rapper rae worked with on the wild said he wrote the entire project except one verse. Hence why i hate it.

When ghost gets incredibly vivid. Like kendrick verse. Or cold outside cuban 2, etc. thats ghostface

If its a cheap collab or warmup album project, even a real one , expect others. These were checks. Tbis how they feed the team. Anyone who knows the rappers should be able to tell.

Ghost has a real verse on here. And one that me and my boy isuspect is someone i listed above.

But its only a guess.

But I know for a fact those albums above werent written by him.

Sour Soul is an extremely great album, I sure hope he wrote that.

GFK is the GOAT to me and my flagrant level of stannery for that man will not let me accept the idea that he uses writers extensively. My soul just won't let me go there.

But that said if you know Ghost it's really obvious that nothing since Wizard of Poetry has been a "real" GFK album, in terms of his actual artistic vision. As you say they are obvious cash-grab/work-for-hire joints. Some are even OK! But they are not real Ghostface albums, at all.

I have faith that the god has one more classic in him for real

Ghost style is hard to pull off as he gets older and calmer

his presence on the mic declined but he was still making decent albums for a while because he still has quality control and crafts projects that are conceptual with good artwork etc for collectors - he's been winded for a bit but still dropping decent music off the strength of his artistry

The last two projects were mask off bad though. The Ghostface Killahs and that last one, were duds. I'm worried about SC2 and hope he calls it something else lol

Dont love the production. Dont hate. Good album. Nothing out of the norm of what i expected. No all timers or anything but a good commercial rae release.

While the beats arent that crazy to me , rae wrote to them all you can tell. Each song has a unique flow. Rae can phone it in and sound phenomenal at same time, off flow alone but i liked how he rhymed on these beats.

Main thing for me is the production suit Rae and what he was going for here. I don’t get the obsession with him doing a Griselda style album with a bunch of Daringer and Beat Butcha type production. At their peak that Griselda production camp was Wu-lite or Mobb-lite and they been trending the wrong direction for a while. There's a couple particular tracks on here I know would be getting way more love if they had one of the preferred producer names attached to em.

It's weird that these mumble rappers get top notch production, mixing, and mastering, but our legends get throw away beats from 15 years ago

Because they need them. Rae don't. Way too much whining about Beats.
