Fvck the Booth. I'm talking in any real life Hip Hop conversation that consists of avid fans of the culture. You call Wu music "minstrel music" in one of those conversations nikkas are liable to laugh at you. These is facts. Just keeping it one hunna wit ya.

There's absolutely some validity in what you and @ridedolo are saying but I find it quite interesting that you guys believe that these Hip Hop artists are detrimental to the Black community and the negative messages are basically being promoted and peddled by these White owned labels and the White Supremacist system yet you still listen to and openly support and praise the music. You have Big L in your avi. He had a good amount of those negative images you talk about in his music. Lyrics about selling drugs, robbing other black people, misogyny, etc. In one thread you guys are stanning these same rappers and in the next you're going on and on about how demonic it is. Why still listen to these rappers then? Why have them as your avatars on messageboards?

We're human. I'm in my 30s I've been listening to rap for decades. I've been to more rap concerts than I can count. But ive cut back dramatically and i recently turned down tickets to the future/drake and Kanye because I'm not supporting this shyt anymore. It's gonna take time to totally deprogram my mind after years of consuming that shyt, but in trying. :yeshrug:

Yea, they will prove you wrong. Without even trying too hard also. They just have to draw attention to the abundance of songs that Wu have in their catalog that detail 5% ideology, Nation of Islam symbolism, pro-black images, and mentions of iconic Black figures like Malcolm X, Ivan Van Sertima and Marcus Garvey. Like I said...that comparison you made was the dumbest sh!t I've read on this site in awhile. And that's saying alot.

Somethings not adding up here. So are you saying wu was promoted and paid for by loud music (whites) to empower black people? And show me tangible results of this empowerment on the black community please...

They released wu wear back in the day only to have RZA's c00n ass get on tv recently and try to pull the black on black crime white supremacist talk. Saying that blacks shouldn't wear hoodies, even though they were selling with wu wear and promoted black on black crime throughout their careers:francis:

Wu got signed by Loud music BECAUSE...check this crazy sh!t out...THEY WERE DOPE. Period. The same reason Nas got signed. Biggie. Public Enemy. Dead Prez...because they were dope and somebody knew they could make money from them. Like any business. Somebody saw the the profitability and made the investment.

And RZA made that statement last year...YEARS after Wu's heyday and I denounced it in that thread. Throughout his career he's been a proponent of the empowerment of Black youth and has donated to Black charities that help the Black community. Him implying that if Black kids dressed differently they would be treated differently by cops was wrong though.

Lemme guess....you hate the Wu and older artists, but gas up Gucci Mane and Future as if they are God's of the streets.

Whatever, Black people make Black artists famous in the first place, then cacs jump on the bandwagon. If they can't acknowledge this then fukk 'em. Trying to guilt trip Black people into supporting your music 40 years after you dropped your first record is corny.
