Yeah wished it would've worked in Oakland but Mark Davis can't do sh*t with the A's in the way and likewise for the A's with the Raiders in the way. These are the last two teams in MLB/NFL to share a stadium. This was common practice back in the days but damn near impossible now especially for an aging stadium in the Coliseum. I think the writing was on the wall when the A's couldn't move to San Jose because that was ruled Giants territory and Oakland gave them a 10 year lease at the Coliseam. On the flipside Oakland has had 20 years to get something done for either team. I don't see a last minute miracle happening.There's billionaires that would've bought into the Raiders, but Al was being goofy about it. This was just pure thirst on Vegas' part. I think even the money that Davis and Adelson are putting in they're getting back from the taxes because I do know if Mark legit put 500 mil up in Oakland he would've had his stadium a year ago. He wants the public to pay for it, but doesn't want to share anything which is where Oakland drew the line. The NFL is probablyat this because the 49ers have done their best to alienate folks here and the Raiders could've covered any lost good will, but instead they're dealing with an owner willing to move a team from solid stable money with a solid fan base to a tourist destination. I ain't heard a lot of Raider fans say they're keeping their season tickets if they move to Vegas. It's only a 2 hour flight, but you gotta pay for flights and hotel rooms too.
I'm sure the A's owner is happy. If they leave and the Warriors cross the bridge he'll have the entire east bay to himself. The Warriors are happy because they don't have to fight the NFL machine for top billing here.....and I know the 49ers are here, but they're in the south bay
-I thought the Warriors are first in coverage up there? The NFL is only on Sundays and the Niners are damn near in San Jose

Because east Oakland where they currently play IS the block. They can get to games. This is an area where 50% of people's checks can go to paying rent/mortgage. Moving the team matters to them...it ain't as simple as hop on southwest for $209 and hit the game.
But how many East O residents actually attend Raider games
Have they decided on where they're building the stadium? I know one location was across from Mandalay Bay on the opposite side of the 15 and on Tropicana between the Thomas and Mack Center and MGM

That's the only area where there are still a lot of folks who are FROM Oakland - most the folks there are raiders fans. The rest of Oakland is full of transplants from other Bay Area cities and people from out of state. Even outside of that, raiders always had a big "blue collar" fanbase in the bay, and being that they played in a shyt stadium, it has always been easy for those fans to attend games. These fans ain't just hopping on a Vegas flight. This is cool for la fans where it's a 3-4 hour drive, but Vegas is 9 hours away from Oakland.
I don't know why people are trying to dismiss a city losing its NFL team...two pro teams at that... Like it ain't shyt
They are first but they gotta push back against the NFL machine. I saw first hand how powerful it was when the super bowl was here. They got whatever they wanted no questions asked. With the Raiders gone the Warriors can take over since the niners don't have east bay ties and burned their bridge with the city. The 49ers main problem is they're in San Jose. If you've been here you'll know it's weirdly segregated. Everyone in the city and east bay look at the south bay a little side eyed.

I wasn't saying its not a big loss on Oakland, I know it is.. I was just wondering how many actual East O residents go to the games. I say about one-third of the people in attendance comes from all over the bay, then the big contingent from Sac, Fresno, Stockton, Bakersfield, LA, and the coast cities. The Raiders are damn near like a State team. I used to visit fam in East O a lot back in the days...
