The millennials that are ruining rap are the ones that pick one area of the genre and just dikkride the hell out of it. If literally all you listen to is the same type of shyt, then youre fukking up. You can pick and choose certain songs by each artist without making it seem like that's all you care about. Unfortunately, most people growing up now don't seem to get this because they find something they like or something that works for them and refuse to give it up

For example, if all you listen to is mainstream rap, youre probably a superficial person who thinks they know good taste in music (spoiler alert you don't) and that everyone else is "just a hater"

Bruh we have Kendrick and Lupe now, fym? nikkas need to quit cherry picking and take off the nostalgia goggles

that's it ? that's all u got for me? u want me to name all the great rappers from the 80's 90's? Kendrick Lamar is a big fish in a small pond put him back in the 90's and he's not standing out at all....lupe has the lyrics to hang with the past greats but none of the charisma those guys had ...if that's the only 2 rappers u can come up with u just proved my point

your point is a false equivalency

You can't accurately compare rock bands and singers from the '90s and '00s to ones from the '60s and '70s so the same should go for rap

so we can't compare? since when and why? why don't u go ahead and admit it's because it wouldn't be close and then we could move on i could go back to my old school nostalgia and you could go back to your new school ignorance

because the mc's main priority is to rock the party. Saying otherwise is historical revisionism. How can you accurately compare DMX to Kool G Rap? Or A$AP Mob to Whodini? Each generation has different priorities than the last so comparisons other than skill are baseless

and how would today's rappers fare against the legends as far as skills is concerned? are you even gonna try to make the argument that they're equal?
