Sam, who is about to be drafted into the NFL and thus become the first openly gay man to play in the league, has launched his own line of merchandise, which is now for sale on his website.
The site is selling t-shirts and buttons with slogans like "Stand With Sam" and "#SamStrong." The majority of the merchandise is in black, white, and gold (his college colors).
But Sam is no fool ... he's got a few items for sale thats use the rainbow flag, a prominent symbol in the gay rights community. As the old saying goes ... know your customer.
A portion of the proceeds will be going to at-risk youth in the St. Louis area.

Seventh round picks get cut all the time.... nothing new.... somebody will pick hum up, maybe the rams on their practice squad. He didn't even really fit with the rams defensive scheme.
I am just waiting for the media and the gay community to say he was cut because he was gay.

I meant contract. In context to what he was saying that his pro career was pro longed by being gay. I'm sure hes made money since he almost had a reality TV show.

You are absolutely right. Even if he washes out of the NFL the demand on the lecture circuit is going to be bananas for this guy. You throw in endorsements and you know a book is in the works interviews on every major talk show this guy is gonna be killing the game.
