In the end cacs will prove they could care less if these players don't apologize.

Regardless they will still go to the games to watch black athletes run and tackle each other.

It's still just entertainment to cacs and no protest can change that.

I didn't even know about this until I saw it on the news. This is hands down the most courageous act in sports in a minute and it's good to finally see an athlete stand up for something instead of keeping they head down like a hoe to "keep the peace". They could probably feel the hatred emanating from the stands of their so called fans and they still went through with it.

fukk it I'm a rams fan now. And I'm copping a tavon austin jersey too

These fukking racist cacs :smh: burn that whole precinct to the ground

EVERY BLACK PLAYER who steps foot inside of the rams stadium should do the same thing pre-game for the rest of the season

Sports fans had a mixed reaction to the small group of St. Louis Rams players who took the field today performing a “hands up, don’t shoot” gesture. But there’s possibly no group who had a stronger reaction than St. Louis Police Officers Association who reportedly released a strongly worded statement calling the players’ action offensive and suggested the NFL punish those involved.

“The St. Louis Police Officers Association is profoundly disappointed with the members of the St. Louis Rams football team who chose to ignore the mountains of evidence released from the St. Louis County Grand Jury this week and engage in a display that police officers around the nation found tasteless, offensive and inflammatory.

“SLPOA Business Manager Jeff Roorda said, ‘now that the evidence is in and Officer Wilson’s account has been verified by physical and ballistic evidence as well as eye-witness testimony, which led the grand jury to conclude that no probable cause existed that Wilson engaged in any wrongdoing, it is unthinkable that hometown athletes would so publicly perpetuate a narrative that has been disproven over-and-over again.’

“The SLPOA is calling for the players involved to be disciplined and for the Rams and the NFL to deliver a very public apology. Roorda said he planned to speak to the NFL and the Rams to voice his organization’s displeasure tomorrow. He also plans to reach out to other police organizations in St. Louis and around the country to enlist their input on what the appropriate response from law enforcement should be. Roorda warned, ‘I know that there are those that will say that these players are simply exercising their First Amendment rights. Well I’ve got news for people who think that way, cops have first amendment rights too, and we plan to exercise ours. I’d remind the NFL and their players that it is not the violent thugs burning down buildings that buy their advertiser’s products. It’s cops and the good people of St. Louis and other NFL towns that do. Somebody needs to throw a flag on this play. If it’s not the NFL and the Rams, then it’ll be cops and their supporters.'”

The full statement can read read at KSDK.com.

The statement’s strongest words are attributed to Jeff Roorda, a Democratic Missouri State Representative and a man considered to be a friend of Darren Wilson. At the time of this writing, Roorda has just deleted his Twitter account.

I hope we see more players protest. Let the Cleveland Browns/Cavaliers do something for Tamir Rice (12 year old boy). A new story says the cops did no CPR and watched Rice writhe in pain and die in agony. Let the Knicks/Giants/Jets do something about Eric Garner (choked out man), especially if they refuse to indict the cops. That decision is coming up soon too.

People just want to watch these well-paid entertainers do their job and show no courage or backbone. When they do speak up, it jolts people out of their stupor.

Jeff Roorda a racist man. He part of the corruption in St Louis system. How you a cop, get fired from one department for writing false reports and end up chief at another dept in a different municipality. Then end up head of the police union. fukk that dude

I hope they do it every game just because of Roorda's letter.

That would put the NFL in a tough spot, if I was a player and condemned by the NFL for showing solidarity, there's no way I'd continue to play football professionally

God damn. This is an official letter? Writter like a fukking internet comment. Theres no way the NFL punishes these players. Goddell has fukked up a bunch, but I think even he is smart enough to understand why it's important for athletes to do this kind of stuff. Make all the people who try to ignore real life shyt and "just sit back and forget about life" have to deal with what the rest of the country is.

:salute: the Rams.
