Miami streets aint nothing nice.

I used to live here (Miami) and Still be careful when i step out. Last night got scared as fukk when some bum came up to my window asking for money byt the Arscht center under the bridge.. Dude just came up from my blind side and i didn't see him until he had his hand right next to my damn ear with the windows down. Startled the sh!t out of me for a half sec.

We ended up talking for a bit and i gave him a couple of dollars. Hes originally from V.I. but fell on hard times. But I always tell my friends who visit Miami to be careful out there

Gentrification is starting to hit Miami tho. Little Haiti in particular has changed alot. There's art galleries, restaurants, record stores....

I first got to Miami in 89 breh. I know that shyt like the back of my hand. I know about downtown when you couldn't be out in the streets past 7pm. I know about overtown and how the area around Miami arena was no place to be at. Biscayne Blvd when that shyt had hookers everywhere

I lived in allapatah for a bit back in the early 90s but then we went to lil Havana which was a bit better. Also lived by Richmond heights/ colonial area in south dade. South dade im very familiar with.

South Dade is like a foreign land. All the hoods down there aren't as well known. Like West Perrine, Richmond Heights, Goulds...

Yep, Bahamians in South Florida have pretty mélange their culture with AA culture...



That's not to be misconstrued with AA culture=Criminal culture. Every immigrant group in Dade has had some sort of criminal activity...

My youngest daughter's school.



Glad she made it out.

It's a mess out there. Five students have been killed over the course of the current school year at Miami Northwestern High School. This is the backdrop of the shooting near the school's HS Football game that left folks scrambling. This is the unfortunate climate that surrounded my youngest daughter's HS experience. I'm selfishly happy she made it thorough but feel bad for the parents who've lost a child that will never experience adulthood.

Black Middle-Class. Especially in West Miramar. Its like a South Florida Baldwin Hills or something. Same goes for West Broward in general. Very nice Black neighborhoods out that way...
