I really hope that this will can be a jump off point to bigger things for St John's. I'm a UNC fan but I've always had a soft spot for the Johnnies. I always wondered why Villanova can do big things when they're in basically the same situation as St John's; big city school, Catholic university. Of course there might be things I'm not privy to as far as their specific circumstances.

Villanova fans are more patient than Johnny fans.

Lol I used to work with a dude who was an alum... He used to get so heated talking about Mike Jarvis I thought he was gonna have a stroke. It does seem like that is the line of demarcation, the program ain't really been on solid footing since. I mean even Seton Hall is competitive at this point. Was Mullin hired just off the strength of having played for Looie? Is there some kind of divide in the athletic department? I remember that Matt Doherty was considered s lock for the coaching position years ago because he was tight with some Wall Street boosters but then i think the job went to Norm Roberts. One dude coached at UNC, led them to a #1 ranking, the other coached at Queens college... :dwillhuh:
