If Drummond had that type of value, the Cavs would’ve traded him yesterday. There’s a reason why Detroit traded him for peanuts and why the Cavs are struggling to find a market. Stop judging players strictly off box score stats.
The Celtics have their starting center of the future. The last thing they need to do is trade for another stopgap veteran that will stunt his development.

* Why would a team trade their best trade asset 15 gms into the season instead of fielding all offers up until the trade deadline?
* Just because Cleveland doesn't let a GM like D.Ainge butt rape them does not mean they're struggling to find a market for Drummond.
* Maybe the Cavs would prefer to let Drummond walk and free up 28m in cap space.
* Detroit had to trade Drummond. He was talking about testing the FA market and Blake just had another season-ending knee surgery one month prior. Detroit needed to re-build and get some salary-cap relief. Trading Griffin and his bloated salary were impossible (injured/surgery) so Detroit did the next best thing by trading Drummopnd's contract.
Detroit's owner wanting to keep Drummond...

Initially, there was uncertainty about whether Pistons owner Tom Gores would sign off on a trade involving Drummond.
Gores told reporters in October that keeping the 26-year-old center was a priority for the organization.
"We know how dedicated we are to each other," he said. "I've said it many times: He's very underrated in a lot of ways for what he does, and culturally he's been so good for this team, just in terms of his attitude, and just watching him really grow up. I met him when he was 18."

....but things took a turn after Blake got injured/had surgery. It made no sense to re-sign Drummond to a huge contract with a deteriorating Blake Griffin making 37m per year for the next 2 seasons.
I'm not saying Drummond is a world-beater or a top 3 center, but he's better than what Boston has right now.
