In this scenario, they don't feel comfortable around people they spend a large amount of their time around being unvaccinated. Don't see how its comical.
Then they can stay home. They aren't playing the games, the players are.
:dead:

These people believe in the vaccine, they got the vaccine, so what's the problem? They are highly less likely to contract COVID. The unvaccinated players will be getting regularly tested and quarantined if they test positive. I'm sorry, people need to stop acting like this. They said 90% of the players as of yesterday were vaccinated and that number will be even higher, but even as it stands, even with the remaining 10% being unvaccinated, it's not like they automatically have COVID, which is my point.

This pandemic is making people go full retard on both sides. Holy shyt.

How can they stay home? I'm sure some staffers travel with the team and have critical functions that have them close to players.

Yes, the majority of players are vaccinated. Don't see why people can not be concerned. That's within their right.

If they have that much concern and fear, then they can work elsewhere. We're in the middle of a global pandemic, we're all exposed to COVID unless we're living in a bubble. The point of the vaccine is for people to protect themselves further and minimize side effects from it. We're sitting here talking about vaccinated people complaining about a few folks being unvaccinated in a highly controlled environment and workplace.

These same people are more than likely NOT checking friends and family members' temperatures when they come in contact with them, these same people still going to public places and stores where they have no idea how many people are vaccinated or not. These same people can carry COVID and infect the players they're talking about they are concerned about.

Sure it's in their right to be concerned, but unless they walking around in hazmat suits, verifying everyone who they come in contact with vaccination cards, they can truly shut the fukk up in this case.

That's all that need to be said. People just voicing concerns.

They most likely will continue to do their jobs regardless but its obvious some staffers were prompted for their opinion and concerns.

From an on the court standpoint, your quarantine will last longer if unvaccinated, and if you're vaccinated, the optics at least make it seem like you're cognizant of the situation as a whole. What we've equated with unvaccinated people is that they don't give a fukk about anybody, regardless of why they choose not to get vaccinated (because many of them won't do any of the other things like wear a mask, social distance, wash their hands, etc.). That's the stuff that breeds contempt among teammates. There's definitely a segment of this world who wants to get through this pandemic by doing nothing.

You're right but people will play semantics with this point.

Its pretty ridiculous that fully vaccinated people, in an environment with proven success at infection control (see past two seasons) are operating with even *greater* fear than they had when the vaccine didnt even exist.

Thats how you know the rhetoric around vaccinations has made some people lose all sight and perspective.

If you believe that it hugely reduces risk for of severe disease/hospitalization ( and I do), why on earth are you still operating from a perspective of fear/anger about the unvaccinated around you? The greatest risks are entirely their own.

The real answer IMO? Some people are still under the impression/belief the disease can get eradicated and that cases will reach 0 if/when everyone is vaccinated. This will never happen, as countries with extremely high vaccinated rates show (Its 80 plus percent where I live in Canada). Get your vaccine and move on with your life accordingly.

Shoutouts to LeBron for finally cutting the BS though. Him openly admitting he got it might help some other player or even some neutral fella outside the game. Dude has been the most stand up player off the court since jump, and this lil nugget of transparency maintains that, at least for me
