If your denver what do you do? Your only up 2 games on memphis, and you absolutely do not want to play the warriors in round 1 so do you sit everyone and let them get the easy win and risk only being a game up on memphis?
If your GSW what do you do? You want to be the 6th seed and have an easy 1st round series with the kings but your the 5 now and a win pushes you closer to playing phx in round 1 on the road. Do you tank yet another road game?
If your phoenix (with the warriors surging, do you drop this OKC and try to fall to the 6th seed and play a green kings team or do you still try to maintain the 4 seed and have a hell series vs the warriors or clippers in round 1.

The kings have exceeded expectations this year. If they could win game 2 vs GSW and play a close game 5 before losing by 5 or 6 at the end people will dance in the streets and be happy with the season

Short answer. Yes absolutely their "problems" will be "fixed".
Champs are the champs until you beat them 4 of 7. Since 2015 they have not lost a series to the western conference. If you think the Kings are gonna do what Kd's thunder, hardens rockets, lenards spurs, etc.. couldnt do then I got ice in Alaska to sell you.
