Pathetic franchise. Both wolves and clips have pretty easy remaining schedule. Them grizzlies are likely going to play-in games.

Yea, the whole "heliocentric" phenomenon of the past 15+ years, whether it be LeBron, Harden, Russ, Luka, Jokic...

... the play style takes an unbelievable amount of ability and energy but its overindulgence can also be manufactured and self-serving by design (rather than need), or used to mask lazy basketball/coaching.

I've felt this way with D'Antoni to Kidd to now Malone. Granted it's more noticeable or flawed with guards/wings bc of how blatant they just stand watch and drift when the ball isn't in their hands.

Yupp exactly. That's why I always say D'Antoni is the godfather of this era. From the fast breaks, to the 3 point shooting volume, to the heliocentric offenses, to the spamming of "positionless basketball"

Like we've just seen it in last year's finals with Luka and the Mavs. Heliocentric basketball looks cool to the eyes, and you can rack up so much gaudy stats, but there is always an expiration date when you come across a team that can destroy it and make your team fall apart. The player in the middle of it always gets tired, worn down, and figured out. Same thing happened with the Suns with Nash, just like it's happening now

The Nuggets when they won in 2023 were way less heliocentric, and had so many plays that did not involve Jokic starting and ending the play

I blame the GM. Should have fired Taylor Jenkins 2 months ago, like right after the All star break. Allow the new coaches system to have 2-3 months of data to see if it's working. Firing a coach right before a 3 game stretch of Lakers, Celtics, Warriors is just nasty work

Should have fired him in the summer when the GM fired most of his assistants, hired his own, and then directed them to run the offense the GM wanted and not want Jenkins wanted.

No wonder he was dancing in the huddle with Ja right before he got fired. Dude aint give a shyt
