I just reread this and no. LaVine is actually playing at an All Star Level, gets paid less than Beal and doesn't have a no-trade clause. The smear campaign against Zach last season was greatly exaggerated.

It was clear that it was a concerted effort to drive his value to the basement so the Lakers could get him for nothing. The time for that kind of trash deal for Zach was over the summer when Chicago was trying to keep DeMar around. That's when they would have potentially did some dumbass trade like that.

Now he's back and looking great, the Bulls regained some leverage again.

Vuc and Zach now look like they can get Chicago decent to positive value back. Both of which would be out of the question a year ago
