Yeah true and historically the NBA built rivalries through the playoffs, but if we’re in an era of parity with different teams making runs every season then less chances of repeated matchups

For example the Lakers & Spurs played each other in 99, 01, 02, 03 and 04, 5 times in 6 seasons.

They should have a weighted schedule like the NFL. Boston doesn't need to play the Wizards 3-4 times each season. Take two of those games away and substitute in Milwaukee or Cleveland.

OKC doesn't need to play 3-4 against the Jazz; give them a couple more against Memphis or Dallas.

Make the playoff teams play each other more during the regular season; Lottery teams get more matchups against one another.

If they ever reduced the games down to 75, the extra matchups would carry a lot more weight.
