In all seriousness... why even have a fan vote if you're just going to deny the people who they want to see play? First mistake was incentivizing it to big money contracts while knowing half of the chosen has historically been through an unregulated popularity contest. If anything, just be at peace with weighing all-star selections differently than all-nba ones.

But to penalize fans for who they want to watch all the while trying to come up with gimmicks to get those same fans to watch... a bit ironic and tone deaf. If America wants to see LaMelo play in a star-studded no-stakes exhibition game over Jalen Brunson, then Brunson can come off the bench. To lead all 3 voting returns by margin and get denied ain't cool.
