Was alot of rumbling in lakers world bout another big name apparently set to be announced that was gonna shock peopleDamn they just posted that nugget interview with their owner where he hinted they could trade joker if he doesnt sign an extension. Wow
So explain this CBA deal to me that’s forcing teams to make trades due to the cap space.
Teams are extending contracts to pay them big money just to off-load them.
I’m trying to grasp why all this crazy shyt be happening
Any reason why the minnesota isnt aggressively pursuing D White @tremonthustler1 he would be a perfect with ant. You would have to part ways with mcdaniels and or Alexander Walker but it would be worth it for a 40% 3pt shooter and all nba tier defender
I understand if they fully tear it down. Tatum probably won't be all the way right that even in two years. They won't have a lot of wiggle room to stack the roster around them. So go ahead and tear it down if you can get a big haul for Jaylen plus with the team being bad next year a really high draft pick for the 2026 draft. Expect to have two bad years as Tatum plays himself back into form and you've already retooled for another multi year run. But I'm only trading Jaylen if I'm blown away by an offer. I wouldn't trade him just to trade him.On FT Windy is talking about how the celtics are listening to offers for D White and Brown. Thats insane. Thry really trying to get Tatum out of there with these moves. I thought they would do a soft rebuild around, brown, white, pritchard and Tatum

What It Is:
The Second Apron is a new luxury tax threshold introduced in the NBA's 2023 Collective Bargaining Agreement to penalize the highest-spending teams even more than before.
2025–26 Numbers (approximate):
Salary cap: ~$141 million
First apron: ~$178 million
Second apron: ~$189 million
Key Restrictions for Second Apron Teams:
If a team exceeds the second apron, they face severe team-building limitations, including:
1. No Mid-Level Exception (even the taxpayer MLE)
2. No Aggregating Salaries in Trades (can’t combine player contracts to match bigger salaries)
3. No Sending Cash in Trades
4. No Trading Future First-Round Picks More Than 7 Years Out
5. Frozen Draft Pick: A future first-round pick can be pushed to the end of the round if over the second apron for 3 of 5 seasons
6. No Sign-and-Trades to bring in players
7. Waived Players: Can’t claim players making over the non-taxpayer MLE
Goal:
To curb super-team spending and promote parity by making it harder for rich teams to stack rosters.
