Victor may have just little bro'd Cade out of the top 3 MVP slot, for the time being at least. One thing to lose the game but another to get destroyed in the star matchup.

It'll be a good learning experience for him and Duren tho. There's another level of efficiency that Cade will need to get to, even after they inevitably upgrade his teammates. i.e. His front-end numbers for the season (pts, rebs, asts) are solid, his back-end numbers (TS%, eFG%) not so much.

With Duren, he don't gotta be great at defense but he can't jump forward on every pump fake either. A serious Wemby, Jokic, Embiid will foul him out within a quarter. Shai and Luka will hunt him on every pnr and have the inanet furious talkin about mismatch hunting is unethical.

Duren played Wemby pretty well the first game. In response to Detroit physicality last game, Wemby adjusted by flopping his ass off and got Duren out of game quick with foul

Cade getting doubled and blitzed every possession. No spacing and no secondary creators. No MVP candidate has as little help as Cade gets

I know people talking bout foul baiting for Wemby, but Fox adjusted as well. Fox hasn't been getting to the paint lately, but looks like he figured out that if Piston defenders were going to press up, better to use his speed and drive. Worked out pretty well.

It’d be interesting if there’s a variance stat for ppg over the course of a season/period of time because Fox has good splits for the season but it does feel like his performances vary in big games if not in general.

Like he’s been trash in the games vs the Knicks (Cup Finals and earlier this week) yet he’ll suddenly look like ‘16 Curry vs Detroit last night or in one of them OKC games iirc.

That’s another variable for them in the playoffs. Since he’s only had one playoff series… in which he was playing well, until he failed miserably, abysmally in game 7

I doubt Castle & Co make enough jump shots
I mean Vassell, Champagnie and Wemby can all make jumper with regularity (and Barnes is still there as well). Fox's 3 ball is touch and go but his midrange game is fine. Same with Castle. I think if they try to sag off PG Castle, Mitch will just put Fox at point and make the defense react to him.

That's not their job. It's to get into the paint and finish, draw a foul, or kick out for a 3. I don't know why people think that because somebody backs off of Castle he is just going to magically shoot a 3. Hasn't really done it all year.

Packing the paint against SA is just going to lead to Julian and Devin shooting wide open 3's.

Kerr without Steph is what people think Phil Jackson without Jordan is

That guy has a .398 winning percentage without him. Not that far off from Sidney Lowe territory :why:
Kerr with a starting lineup of Podz, Melton, Gui, Dray and Horford out here smacking up your mans Ime and a healthy Rockets squad.

:picard:

You'll never stop embarrassing yourself.
