Normally, NBA finals rematches happen on Christmas but the league decided to schedule it early.

The last time an NBA finals rematch was played at the start of the opening week of the season was during the 2012 lockout, when the Heat played against the Mavs.

Unfortunately, with both teams missing some guys due to injuries and the Pacers no longer having Turner, it kinda takes some of the luster away from this rematch.
