Lavine is an abhorrent defender and has an awful contract that runs for the next two years. Pistons can do a lot better with their assets.

The argument is an easy one. A bigger and taller player who is able to play the post will hands down be a better player than a guard when they all lose their athleticism. The game for guards is about athleticism they simply have to be quicker, faster, and more agile to get around bigs and score over them. When you get guys like Wemby and Giannis those are unicorns that's why they are or will be league MVPs. They have both massive size and also coordination/athleticism like a guard.

I agree the Lakers key to success is Ayton. They have to be a lot better on the defensive end.
