I think depth and lineup versatility is damn near just as important as having a big 2 or 3 now. And find your teams niche and excel at it. OKC is so good because they've basically been able to scene to doing all of those things. Young talent that's aged and developed into a big 3, a squad that can come at you in waves, and absolutely smothering defense that can attack you at all levels.

Agreed, and along the lines of what you’re saying: having a system that raises your team’s collective IQ. Thunder run an equal opportunity offense ala the ‘90s Bulls and ‘10s Warriors. The stars get the most shots ofc but there’s a lot of off ball movement with clear plug n play roles.

I believe that play style has greater value and ROI than the heliocentric one-star does everything approach, which stunts development and makes them way too dependent on one person.
