Remember what I said about strength of schedule and how nitpickers were on OKC having the #1 easiest schedule… even tho DEN and LAL were right behind them at #2 and #3 with similar injuries but not playing as well? (media and podcasters don’t want to bring that part up)

So are the Lakers as good as their current record/ seeding? :jbhmm:

Would OKC still be 24-1 if they had the 3rd easiest schedule (LAL) instead of the 1st?
Yea dudes talking about SOS in professional sports is goofy as hell. All teams play each other. You can't make your schedule and hide. Thunder are favored in every game for the season so it doesn't matter anyway.

The Lakers aren't as good as their record, they have a horrible point differential. They aren't close to OKC/DEN/HOU. I'd take SA/MIN over them. They are terrible defensively and Reaves might be worse than Luka.

Makes you wonder what their SOS will be after 82 games this year compared to last year when they finished with 68 wins:troll:

And yea, a quarter into the season i'd rank the West as
(1) OKC
(2a) HOU (2b) DEN (2c) SAS
(5) MIN
(6) LAL

As of this moment, I don't see how a MIN/LAL series would go any different than it did last year. Or why healthy versions of HOU/DEN/SAS wouldn't cause the same problems. Hell, Jaylen Brown showed someting in that Finals vs Luka that heavy full court pressure... Luka ain't good with that shyt lol. So now the capable teams full court press whichever of Luka or Reaves is bringing up the ball, and neither like that shyt.

Even IND vs Shai, that full court pressure ish causes problems. You see this season Shai rarely ever brings the ball up, and coincidentally he's having his most efficient season ever. Problem with LAL is their offense is so my-turn-your-turn dribble dribble centric

I’d say Denver is a sole 2, Spurs 3, Rockets 4

As far as the Lakers they’re in the same boat as they’ve been the last few years - At the top of the league in FT rate with a lower net rating than the win percentage should have. Perfect recipe for an overrated team.

You can’t have Luka-Reaves-LeBron trio out there defensively with a Ayton or Hayes as your rim protection. Food against athletic teams

I feel the opposite, SOS is the only thing that matters, but SOS is not calculated nearly correctly, because all teams aren't the same at different points of the season. You can play a bad team when they are playing bad and blow them out and you can play that exact bad team when they have won 3 out of 4 and playing well and that victory should weight more than some team that beat them when they had loss 10 out of 11.

Pelicans have the second worst record in the nba but the majority of their games are close with 3 minutes left. They just can't close. If all you do is give them half of those wins they are a play in team. So while they win loss record is terrible that doesn't reflect what you see on the court and how tight their games are when you watch them play.

It's like trying to compare the spurs and celtics to see which team is better but one team has had to play the number 2, number 3, and number 4 seed in the west while the other team is playing the nets, wizards, magic when banchero out. Don't see how you could compare them without looking at SOS.
