Nuggets winning tonight is pretty significant:

(1) Spurs are now 3 Ls back of #1 with 5 OKC games left… which are Jazz, Lakers, Clippers, Nuggets, Suns. Thunder just need to win the first 3 to wrap up the 1 seed and close the door on the MVP award.

^and this is important because:

(2) Denver remains 1.5 games behind the Lakers for #3 but LAL is basically crippled. A very realistic scenario is that the Thunder dogwalk UTA, LAL, LAC… then sit out vs DEN to help ensure they bump LAL off that #3… which would set up a DEN/SAS 2nd round matchup.

If all that transpires , it could not have worked out any better for OKC.
