Charlotte 4th at 24
Detroit 14th at 26
Houston 15th at 26.12
Atlanta 16th at 26.38

Boston & PHI tied 20th at 27.50

It’s interesting because the Spurs are young but not that young compared to half the league. If you account for the full roster, Spurs are actually 14th and Thunder are 6th. Houston is 28th.

NBA Teams by Average Age

  1. Brooklyn Nets — 23.36
  2. Washington Wizards — 23.78
  3. Atlanta Hawks — 23.79
  4. New Orleans Pelicans — 24.30
  5. Orlando Magic — 24.40
  6. Oklahoma City Thunder — 24.53
  7. Charlotte Hornets — 24.60
  8. Chicago Bulls — 24.60
  9. Toronto Raptors — 24.71
  10. Memphis Grizzlies — 24.95
  11. Utah Jazz — 25.00
  12. Boston Celtics — 25.11
  13. Detroit Pistons — 25.18
  14. San Antonio Spurs — 25.20
  15. Indiana Pacers — 25.21
  16. Phoenix Suns — 25.28
  17. Portland Trail Blazers — 25.29
  18. Miami Heat — 25.30
  19. Minnesota Timberwolves — 25.72
  20. Philadelphia 76ers — 25.76
  21. Cleveland Cavaliers — 26.20
  22. Denver Nuggets — 26.28
  23. Dallas Mavericks — 26.35
  24. Los Angeles Lakers — 26.35
  25. Milwaukee Bucks — 26.50
  26. New York Knicks — 27.23
  27. Sacramento Kings — 27.27
  28. Houston Rockets — 27.39
  29. Golden State Warriors — 27.53
  30. Los Angeles Clippers — 28.64

But I prefer my method with top 8 rotation since those will be who actually suit up in the playoffs.
I mean if you just replace Bismack (doesn't play) Kelly (doesn't play) Barnes (rotational player) with 30 year old players the spurs are what...the 4th youngest team in the league:pachaha:

I never understood these average age metrics were because there are only 15 rosters a few old ass players who don't play can goose the numbers.

The difference between the Nets and Washington average age is Anthony Gill...

Forgot the Spurs also have old ass Mason Plumlee standing around doing nothing at 36 to :mjlol:

My first post literally tells you they’re the 7th youngest when you do this :skip:

Jalen Duren is a beast man, next great black American big and top 20 player in the league soon to be top 15 with Cade, JB gets better as a coach every year of his career- man oh man pistons gonna be a biiig problem for a long time, jsut gotta get over that hump this year.
He’s a beast

Not as athletic as Stoudemire but can definitely end up more skilled, and hopefully more durable

Nothing to do now but put the Nuggets in the 3 spot :youngsabo:
A series in the semis between Denver and San Antonio makes me tired just thinking about it. I see a 7 game series where both teams are gonna go up & down the court, scoring a lot of points.

Whoever wins that series better hope some team gives OKC a challenge(especially Denver. Spurs got a deep bench). I could see OKC going something like 8-1 the first 2 rounds.

The idea is that playing with pace creates more possessions which leads to more points…basically quantity over quality.

Slower paced teams value each possession and look to work for the best shot. The issue that arises from that approach is you allow defenses more time to settle in and still run and gun after a miss, turnover, or even a made bucket.

In the regular season, playing with pace covers up a lot of offensive defiances and poor schematics. That all gets exposed in the playoffs (it’s one of the reasons I’m worried about the Spurs come playoffs). Regular season has enough games to help normalize stats positively towards playing uptempo. However, the playoffs are so few games, that the stats are more up and down game after game.

I still don’t understand how NYK won those first 2-games vs Boston but tonight could be a good indicator of whether anything has changed
