Kiss land is great. I think it Continues to age well.

Most people were disappointed because he switched the style up. I mean a song like wanderlust would stick out like a sore thumb on the trilogy.

But damn if kiss land isn't cohesive as hell. The production is varied yet it all has a distinct cohesive sound.

Funny thing is if wanderlust dropped now that he's caught on mainstream that track would blow up.

I love the soundscape of that album. Storm sounds, drum pans, etc. Really puts you in a place. My favorite joints are Belong to the World, Wanderlust, Live For, and Pretty (Top 5 Weeknd song IMO).

You're exactly right. Wanderlust is in the same vein as I Can't Feel My Face. If he dropped Kissland after BBTM, it'd have been much bigger.

BBTM

For me Thursday is his best body of work, I can't skip a single song and he's got a 6 song stretch there that I'd put up against any album of all time :wow:But I understand if it's not for everyone :whoa:

The top 4 is so excellent it's interchangeable, especially the trilogy but BBTM by far the worst.
Everybody but pop fans and niccas who weren't fans of Weeknd original sound will agree Beauty Behind The Madness is at the bottom

I enjoy seeing where and how people rank his body of work so far. The fact that everyone's lists always tend to be so different from each other, just shows how we value different things from him as an artist. Thursday is my favorite as it has the same power, cohesiveness & energy that caught me up off guard with House of Balloons, but it's combined with incredible songwriting - this dude seriously stripped down a song to have an honest dialogue with his then fans, and did so under the guise of talking to a female.... He predicted his rise to stardom and how some will no longer fukk with him in the song "Rolling Stone" after his mystery fades and you get use to his face. Incredible shyt :wow:....

I rank Kiss Land second because it's the perfect blend to me of the old Weeknd ("Kiss Land" the song, "Professional") and the Current Weeknd ("Odd Look", "Wanderlust") with some songs on the album containing elements of both....

I'll always hold House of Balloons in high regard for the simple fact that it's the album that changed the course 'R&B' (R&D - Rhythm & Dark), but musically speaking, I have those two over HOB's.

BBTM is my least favorite, but I still maintain if that album had dropped out of nowhere, with very little fanfare & hype like his previous works, I would hold it in higher regard - I couldn't imagine hearing "The Hills", "Often", and "Tell Your Friends" (all singles BTW) for the first time in one sitting and not be blown away by what I was hearing.
